Our Teachers
About us
High Street is an English institute made up of a team of teachers graduated in different institutions in Argentina. We all have experience teaching English as a second language to children as from 5 years old, adolescents and adults. We are constantly developing professionally in fields like English language, methodology and international exam preparation.
We work in a team coordinating contents and methodologies from the very early stages to the most advanced levels. We believe that the communicative approach is the most effective in order to equip our learners with the tools they need to communicate in real life. We use the materials: books, cds, videos, etc. In real life contexts for students to come into contact with English in a pleasant and interactive way.
Mission.
That our students acquire the knowledge and abilities necessary to use the language effectively and fluently in real life contexts: communication with English speakers, communication abroad, international exams, study abroad in foreign institutions, develop their profession, achieve their professional goals. That all this could be done in a pleasant way expanding their social horizons.
Methodology of work
The communicative approach implies the following methodology of work in class: the new language formulas are presented in context through the use of listening activities (cassettes, cds. Videos, dvds) , the models provided by the teacher and reading of dialogues, brochures, etc. In this way the students have access to the language in a global way and are gradually led to discover the vocabulary and grammar rules and deduce their use in each situation. This is later practiced systematically and recycled in different contexts.
